From Gunnison, Colorado:
Drive 9 miles west on Hwy. 50, then turn south across
the bridge on Hwy 149. Lake City is 46 scenic miles
up the road.
From Creede, Colorado:
Follow the Silver Thread Scenic Byway, better known
as Hwy 149, 56 miles North.
From
Ouray:
Cinnamon Pass from Silverton is 4-WD only.
Allow three hours
from Silverton, although
it is less than 40 miles.
Likewise, the short trip from Ouray over Engineer Pass
requires 4-WD and will take 3 ½ hours. Fantastic
views and sights on both trips.
